HER SCENT, IN THREE CHAPTERS
Aldehydes · Neroli · Ylang-ylang
A bright, airy opening evokes morning light filtering through Makiling’s canopy. Neroli and ylang-ylang lend a soft floral glow: our interpretation of the diwata’s luminous presence.
Jasmine · Rose · Lily-of-the-valley
The floral heart expresses Maria’s grace and quiet tenderness. Jasmine, rose, and lily-of-the-valley suggest an enchanted garden, echoing the beauty she asks us to protect.
Sandalwood · Vetiver · Vanilla
Sandalwood and vetiver bring a grounded, wooded depth, recalling roots and ancient timber. Vanilla softens their warmth: a lasting impression of the guardian’s sheltering presence.
The story connections are artistic interpretations of Maria Makiling’s listed scent notes. Botanical imagery evokes the fragrance; it does not imply materials harvested from Mount Makiling.
05 / AN EVERYDAY SIGNATURE
From a quiet morning at home to a busy day in the city, carry Maria Makiling’s story close.
A personal fragrance. A little connection to home.
06 THE TALE BEHIND MARIA MAKILING
MARIA MAKILING’S JUDGMENT / THE ILLUSTRATED CARD
The Makiling chapter
The enchanting diwata of Mount Makiling: serene in her beauty, unwavering in her protection of the forest. A tale of love, mystery, and taking only what nature can spare.
Aldehydes, neroli, and ylang-ylang open the tale. Jasmine, rose, and lily-of-the-valley bloom at its heart; sandalwood, vetiver, and vanilla leave a warm, wooded finish.
Si Maria’y nakatindig sa gitna ng damo’t orkidyas;
Mga kamay na sanay sa pag-ani, di na sanay sa paggalang;
Umikot ang mga dahon, parang sayaw ng panaghoy;
Naglutangan sa ere, lumipad pabalik sa sanga;
At ang mga usang nagkubli’y muling sumilip sa likod ng puno;
Hinampas ng alikabok, dahon, at sariling kahihiyan;
Ang bundok at gubat ay hindi palengke na uubusin hanggang huling buto;
